PDO Threads
What are PDO threads you ask? Threads or sutures made up of Polydioxanone (PDO) which is fully absorbable, used for over 20 years in general, orthopedic, cardiac and plastic surgery. PDO threads have a high safety profile and cause minimal tissue disruption/reaction.
PDO threads help lift and/or reposition sagging or wrinkled skin while stimulating collagen and elastin production. Known widely as a nonsurgical facelift, PDO thread procedures are minimally invasive. These threads help improve structure, integrity and appearance of the skin without surgery.
PDO threads naturally begin to dissolve 6 - 8 months after insertion. Results are immediate and continue to improve over time as collagen is stimulated via the body's natural healing process. Once threads dissolve skin stays tight and in its lifted position up to an additional 12 months.
PDO threads can be used with fillers and neuromodulators to help further complement esthetic enhancements. There are three main types of threads: smooth, volumizing and lifting.
